Privacy Policy

Last updated 6 September 2026

This policy explains what information Haunted Holdings LLC, doing business as Élodie, collects when you use our website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We keep this short and specific: we collect what we need to answer your enquiry and run our business, and nothing else.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you give us

When you fill in the project brief form on our site, we collect what you enter:

If you email, call, or text us instead, we hold whatever you choose to send us.

2.2 The chat on our website

If you open the chat bubble and send a message, we collect what you type and the assistant's replies. Those messages are sent to Anthropic, which provides the AI that writes the replies. Ethan reads the conversations. The assistant is not a person, and the chat window says so.

The chat does not store anything in your browser, and it does not start until you send a message. If you choose to leave your name and email at the end of a conversation so we can follow up, that is handled exactly like a project brief, and the transcript is attached to it so we have the context.

Please do not send anything sensitive through the chat. It is a sales enquiry tool, not a secure channel.

2.3 Information collected automatically

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and move through our site — but only if you accept. When you first visit, we ask. Decline, or simply ignore the banner, and no analytics load and no cookies are set at all.

If you accept, it collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location (city or region, derived from IP address), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. This is statistical and we use it in aggregate — it is not used to identify you personally, and your IP address is anonymised. You can change your mind at any time; see our Cookie Policy.

See our Cookie Policy for the specific cookies involved and how to turn them off.

2.4 What we do not collect

We do not collect payment card details through this website. We do not ask for Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, or other sensitive personal information. If we ever take payment, it is handled through a separate, established payment processor and we do not store your card data.

3. Why we use it

Marketing email is opt-in only. The project brief form has a separate, unticked checkbox for it. Sending us a brief does not add you to any list — you have to tick that box deliberately, and we record your answer with your enquiry.

If you do opt in, every message we send will carry a working unsubscribe link, and you can also just email us to be removed. We will action it promptly. We do not sell or share your address with anyone.

4. Text messages (SMS)

We will not text you unless you ask us to. The project brief form has a separate, unticked checkbox for text messages, next to the phone number field. Leaving it alone means we will reply by email only. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of buying anything from us.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number, or your consent to be texted, with any third party for their own marketing purposes. We share your number only with the messaging provider that delivers our texts, which is not permitted to use it for any other purpose.

We text you about the project brief you submitted — a confirmation, replies to your questions, and follow-ups about your enquiry. Some of these replies are sent automatically, and a member of our team takes over personally whenever your question needs a real answer about scope, pricing, or timing. Broader marketing texts are sent only if you ticked the marketing opt-in box as well.

You can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP, and get our contact details by replying HELP. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Full details are in our SMS Terms.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only for that purpose:

Third parties that process information from this site
ProviderWhat it handles
Formspree Processes and stores submissions from our project brief form, then delivers them to us by email. Your form contents pass through and are retained on their systems.
Twilio Delivers our text messages. Receives your mobile number and the contents of messages between us, only if you consented to texts. Not permitted to use your number for its own marketing.
Anthropic Provides the AI that drafts our replies to enquiries and powers the chat on our website. Processes the contents of your brief, your chat messages, and your texts to generate a response. Does not use this content to train its models.
Airtable Stores enquiry records so we can track and follow up on your project request.
Google Analytics 4 Website traffic and usage statistics, as described in section 2.3.
Our hosting provider Serves the website. Standard server logs may record IP addresses and requests.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing what it does with data. We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are kept for up to two years, so we can pick up a conversation if you come back to us, then deleted.

Client records — contracts, invoices, and project correspondence — are kept for seven years after the end of the engagement, to meet tax and accounting requirements.

Analytics data is retained according to the settings in Google Analytics, and is aggregated rather than tied to you as an individual.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See section 8.

7. How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. We limit access to enquiry and client data to those who need it, which in practice means the owner of the business. Our service providers maintain their own security measures.

We will be straight with you: no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify you promptly and tell you what happened.

8. Your choices

Whatever state you live in, you can email us at Ethan@elodieweb.com and ask us to:

We will respond within 30 days. We do not charge for this and we will not treat you differently for asking.

To opt out of Google Analytics across all sites, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

9. Where we operate

Élodie serves clients in the United States, primarily the Raleigh–Durham area of North Carolina. Our services are not directed at, or marketed to, residents of the European Union, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, and our site and data are hosted in the United States.

If you are outside the United States and choose to contact us anyway, you are sending your information to the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. We will still handle any access or deletion request you make, as described in section 8.

10. Children

This site is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Links to other sites

Our site links to demonstration sites we have built and to third-party platforms. Once you follow a link off our site, this policy no longer applies, and we are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the business changes — for example, if we add email marketing or a new service provider. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when this version was published. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
